The funny thing about making the world a better place is that it ISN’T a full time job. You don’t have do to it every second of every day. But you do have to do it when it counts. The other day I was walking down the street when I saw the quote mentioned above. “Be nice to each other” it said. It was a wonderful moment. Nothing bad was happening, but it made me think. I think I’m going to get some “Be a Better Place” stickers made up. We all have a role to play in creating (or sustaining) the world we want to live in. Setting a good example, treating people the way you would like to be treated- or better- and taking responsibility- not just for what we’ve done but moving the conversation forward. Pointing fingers doesn’t help. What we need to do is raise the bar. Think about what we want, tomorrow, next week, next year and twenty years from now. What we want for our children and our parents. The kind of world we can promote, foster and embrace. And it’s out there. We just need to start living as though we are already in it. Be nice this week.
